Avian influenza can be contagious through contact with infected poultry or feces of those infected animals. To contact or inhalation of dust with virus would also make birds or even human infect the virus. To implement safely prevention work, these workers who execute infected poultry culling should wear proper personal protective equipment. Other workers who work in highly contagious risk environment such as: cleaning and disinfection of farm equipment and buildings, laboratory handling of avian flu infectious materials, veterinary surveillance and protection from infected humans in health-care settings, should be also wear protective apparels.

There are 3 key features for infection control when dealing with Avian influenza for workers:

(1) Choose the correct PPE,
(2) donning and doffing coverall correctly, and
(3) the correct way of coverall preservation and disposal.

According to latest WHO recommended specification for coverall for filovirus disease issued in Oct, 2014, healthcare workers should choose appropriate protective apparels, which meet below two requirement: option 1, tested for resistance to blood and body fluid penetration: meets or exceeds ISO 16603 class 3 exposure pressure; option 2, tested for resistance to blood-borne pathogen penetration; meets or exceeds ISO 16604 class 2 exposure pressure.

ULTITEC 2000 and ULTITEC 3000T are both CE certified. Both models are recommended for protective clothing for Avian influenza workers due to the fact meeting EN14126 (Protection against biological hazards and infective agents), furthermore, both models exceed both option 1 and option 2 recommendation by WHO.
