Chemical Permeation Data

Permeation data relating to the barrier performance of the main PPE fabric against chemicals can be found. It serves as a selection guide to determine suitability for the working environment.

The test methods include EN ISO 6529, EN 16523-1, EN 374-3, ASTM F739, ASTM F1383, etc. It should also be noted that there may be differences in some cases between EN/ISO and ASTM test results. While the tests are similar, the EN/ISO standard records a time to a permeation rate of 1.0µg / min / cm2, whereas the ASTM standard records a time to a permeation rate of 0.10µg / min / cm2.

Disclaimer

All test results under real test methods are carried out from independent laboratories to the relevant ASTM/EN/ISO standards. The simulation result is only suitable for ULTITEC 5000 fabric and is supported by PermaSURE®.
Please keep in mind that the permeation times listed do not correspond to the actual safe time. The safe time varies depending on the type of PPE, the ambient temperature, the toxicity of the chemicals, proper donning, and other factors. During risk assessment, it is the user's responsibility to determine the suitability of PPE.
